Patent registration is one of the options for protecting an invention.
Patent protection can be described as an agreement between an inventor and the State. Based on this agreement, the inventor exposes his invention and its application or implementation to the public and in exchange, the State grants him the exclusive right to use the invention for 20 years. As part of this exclusive right, the inventor is entitled to prevent others from using the invention or to permit them to use the invention under a license and in exchange for royalties.
